It was a weird feeling and situation throughout Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.
The Bills won their first road game since week one of 2011 by defeating the Cleveland Browns 24-14 on a rainy day in Cleveland, however the loss they suffered early on seemed much worse than any W or L on the record.
After picking up about 20 yards on a screen play, C.J. Spiller went down hard on his shoulder on a tackle that knocked him out of the game. Everyone from media to fans feared the worst from the injury, but after the game head coach Chan Gailey gave a bit of good news on the situation.
Gailey said that while Spiller wont play against New England next weekend, he doesn’t expect him to miss much more time than that. That’s a far cry from what many expected it to be: a long term injury.
The Bills still have to figure out what they are going to do without Spiller next weekend, but hopefully they can get healthy before getting knee deep into a stretch of games that will define their 2012 season.
