Remember the guy who called me from ATL after the game and went nuts about Moorman?Did he get through to Nix, too? Damn. #Bills

Who’s the Bills’ new holder? That shouldn’t be overlooked.
— Bill Hoppe (@BillHoppeNHL) September 25, 2012
Brian Moorman really punted so poorly the #Bills had to boot him now? With that standard Fitz would have been gone after game 1.

Wow, Brian Moorman released by Bills. So long to basically the team MVP for 10 of the last 11 years.
— John Vogl (@BuffNewsVogl) September 25, 2012
Moorman has had a bad start, only one year left on his deal and makes over $1 mill as a punter. Interesting move, nonetheless. #Bills

UPDATE: Tim Graham of the Buffalo News has confirmed the release, and states that the team will be bringing back rookie punter Shawn Powell who impressed the team during training camp.
Powell is a 6’4, 248lb kid with a powerful leg. His only drawback: directional kicks.
The details are just starting to come in, but according to CBS Sports’ Jason LaCanfora, the Buffalo Bills are set to release longtime punter Brian Moorman today.
“Bills are releasing veteran stalwart P Brian Moorman. Surprise move. Have a feeling he might not be a free agent all that long”
The 12-year NFL veteran has been a key piece of the Bills since debuting with the team in 2001, and is a two-time pro-bowler in 2006 and 2007.
He had fallen off in his production with the Bills this season, ranking 30th in the league in net punting, which is the total yards of a punt after the return, at just 32.7 yards per punt.
