After a period of dormancy, the Shane Doan rumors began to pick up once again last night and into this morning after Jeremy Roenick said that Buffalo had made a huge money offer for the 17-year NHL veteran.
Tonight, the buzz is going to become a little louder.
According to ESPN’s John Buccigross, the Sabres are indeed the team that made Doan the 4-year, $30-million offer that was originally reported nearly two months ago. The contract would be a cap hit of $7.5-million per year.
It’s not known how seriously the Doan camp is considering the offer from the Sabres, but one thing’s for sure – the Sabres sure are serious about bringing Doan to Hockey Heaven.
